Plastic Pollution

Plastic pollution causes many problems and issues to the world. It normally spreads around at beaches and out at seas and wildlife is dying because of this.

Facts and figures:

•between 4.8 million (12.7 tonnes) of debris end up in oceans every year

•5.25 trillion individual plastic particles weighing roughly 244,000 tonnes floating on surface of ocean

In the ocean, plastic pollution kills marine mammals and fish through entanglement in objects such as fishing gear. Land birds have been found with plastic in their stomachs and animals that normally feed in waste dumps. Racoons and wild dogs are often seen accidentally digesting and ingesting plastics. Often, we also see animals tangled by plastic bags, rings or even jars and this is contribution to the suffering of animals.

What you can do:

My peers should share the viewpoint so that other people who aren’t aware of plastic pollution will start helping the communities and animals by picking up the dangerous plastic. They should also share the viewpoint to stop the people who throw out plastic without ever thinking about the environment.
