An Interview With Miss Craig

What do you enjoy most about teaching Year 3?

I love watching the children grow up to be lovely responsible juniors! Also the level of progress from the beginning to the end is tremendous.

What are your favourite hobbies?

I love sport and going on holiday!

What caused the 'battle' between you and your best friend, Mrs Bolton?

She isn't grateful enough. I am always right and she can't accept it!

At what age did you start teaching?

23.

Was Westbourne the first school you taught at?

No, definitely not! This is the 3rd school I've taught at.

What part of 'up North' are you from?

I'm originally from Sunderland!

What are your 3 favourite countries to go on holiday in?

1. Scotland. 2. Greece. 3. Spain. I'd also really like to go Scandinavia!

What's your favourite colour?

Green

What is your favourite food?

Has to be curry or pie!

If you weren't a teacher, what would you be?

This may sound really sad but when I was younger I really liked maps, so I wanted to be a town-planner!

What is your favourite subject to teach?

I love them all. The variety is brilliant! That's why primary teaching is the best; you get to teach everything!

The Westbourne Chronicle

On the 22nd of March the year 6 football team took part in the London youth games, competing against lots of other schools. It all kicked off with them tacking a train to Crystal Palace football grounds where the event took place. They played a total of nine games which took them to the final. The boys played brilliantly but sadly they lost during sudden-death penalties to a school in Havering. It was an amazing achievement and the boys received silver medals to take home. In total there were 33 London Schools that took part. Each game was 6 minutes long and it was the biggest youth sports event in the whole of Europe. Lots of athletes, including British Olympians Mo Farah and Sir Bradley Wiggins, have represented their boroughs at the games.

Yesterday, some lucky members of year 5 enjoyed a wonderful day trip to Wembley Arena, where they watched an inspiring performances with over 12,000 other children. There were many artists who sang on stage, including Jessie J, The Vamps and Conor Maynard. Lots of inspirational speakers gave speeches, such as, Fleur East, Paula Abdul and Kate Winslet (who spoke about people never believing in her dream of becoming an actress, never giving up and ultimately being cast as Rose in one of the most popular movies of all time, Titanic!) The children also heard directors of companies talk about making a difference in the world. Their message was: 'It doesn't matter who you are or where you're from, everyone, including you, can change the world for the better.' Overall, it was an amazing, uplifting and inspiring experience.
