GOOGLE EXPEDITON

Today, We experienced using google expedition. Google expedition is a virtual reality app where you can play virtual reality. Lynette ( our guide) set us on different activities to look at a variety of different views. We used Google cardboard which you may buy for about £5 on Amazon, E bay etc. We also used the app 'Expedition' to find our virtual reality scenes.

We worked in partners, taking turns to look at each scene. We wrote down what we could see and maybe hear. We did this to help with our English work on Fantasy stories. The first scene was the Savannah. There were Rhinos having a mud bath and tall grass. There were also dead trees which were slouched.

We were asked different questions about each setting to see how much looked at the scene. There were sometimes even arrows showing us some important points to look at. The next scene was an under water scene. You could see the surface of the water and some scuba divers searching the sea. There was a school of colourful fish swimming peacefully. I saw the coral reef, all sorts of shapes and sizes.

I enjoyed this experience it was really fun seeing all the scenes that I hadn't seen before. It was fun being able to describe our surroundings. I really liked the 360 view and how they virtual reality looked so realistic. I believe virtual reality can help children. For instance, if their learning about mining underground. VR could give them the chance to see minerals they may not see in real life. Or if they're learning about Volcanoes and how to describe them they'd be able to Volcanoes they might not see in real life.
