The planet Mars by Abigail Magro year 5.5

Mars is the 4th planet in the solar system when taking the distance from the sun. It is red and so sometimes it is called THE RED PLANET , also named for the Roman god of war.

This planet has 2moons, named Phobos and Deimos. Mars is the second closest to Earth after Venus. It is usually easy to observe at night because its orbit lies outside Earth.

Mars is similar to Earth. It has clouds, volcanoes, winds, seasonal weather etc. It orbits the sun once in 687 Earth's days, which means that its year is nearly twice as long as Earth's. It spins on its axis once every 24 hours 37minutes, making a day on Mars only a little longer than on Earth day.
