A normal Year 5 Monday

Every day, the early students arrive at 8:00 and the late students arrive at 8:30. In the mornings -when we are waiting for everyone to arrive- we have tutor time. In this time we can read, colour and talk quietly. On a Monday we all bring our swimming kits because we go swimming at 9:00 at Dormers Wells Leisure Centre.

When we get back to school we go straight into a maths lesson (though we have snack before of course) sometimes we start off the lesson with warm ups; math warm ups not physical exercises. Maths ends at 11:45.

After that we have PSHEE. This is usually a fun lesson because we don't have to write much. We have discussions most of the time.

On a Year 5 club week we have debating. We choose a topic to debate on and we split into two teams. The opposers and the proposers. On a Year 6 club week we go to the park. This takes us to 12:45.

Then we have lunch. You can have school lunch or packed lunch. Lunch ends at 1:15.

After that we have English. On a Monday we usually have a reading lesson. This is when we read the class novel.

Then we have science. We usually read a book on the topic to start the lesson. Then we answer questions or copy off the board. Then we go home.

Some people do clubs. You can do: Homework club, Mad science or late club.

The normal school day would end at 3:45. the long school day would end at 5:00.

By the way, this blog is for parents who keep asking their kids about their day.
