Preposition

Prepositions are words

that tell us where

an object is around

something. These are

some prepositions:

Over, under ,next-to and on. Here is an example: Bob was on the chair. On is the preposition in this sentence.

Homophone

Homophones are words that sound the same

but are spelt differently

and have different

meanings. These are

some homophones:

Flour-Flower

Heard-Herd. Here is an

example: I think I heard

a herd of elephants nearby. Heard and Herd

are the homophones.

Subordinate Clause

Subordinate Clause is

part of a sentence

that doesn't make sense

on its own. Here is a

example: I like Tennis

,its fun. Its fun is the

subordinate clause.

Main Clause

A main clause is

the part of a

sentence that can

make sense on its

own. Here is an

example: I like

Tennis ,it's fun. I

like Tennis is the

main clause.

Apostrophes

There are two kinds

of apostrophes.

Omission ( when a

letter is missing ) and

possession ( when it

belongs to someone.

Here are some examples:

Omission.

Possession.

Pete's book.

Isn't it fun.

Adjectives

An adjective describes

something. Here is an

example: The film was

amazing. Amazing is

the adjective.

See. S.P.A.G is easy. You don't

need to be a genius.

Noun

Verb

A noun is

the name of

something.

Here is an

example:

The Lion ate

some meat.

Lion is the

noun.

A verb is a

doing word ( an

action.) Here is

an example: I

ran to school

today. Ran is the

verb.
