All About GYMNASTICS

If you want to become a PRO at gymnastics, read this and your dream will come true!

Gymnastics is NOT an easy sport. If you make a mistake on a certain skill, try it over and over again. Remember: practice makes perfect;)

Before starting gymnastics:

Firstly, before you start doing ANY sport, you need to warm up. Take a jog or run for about 5-10 minutes. After warming up, you'll need to stretch. If you do not stretch, you could get a cramp much easier. Stretching also helps to get more flexible.

To stretch your front splits, do a lunge. A lunge is when you bend one leg and put it on front of your other leg, however, for a side lunge, put your legs apart .Try your best to push your groin to the floor. After, once you're comfortable with that, straighten both of your legs and push your hips to the ground, so your in splits.

Different types of gymnastics:

Artistic gymnastics: artistic gymnastics has four events- Floor exercise, Balance beam, Vault and Uneven bars.

Acrobatic gymnastics: acrobatic gymnastics is when you are in a pair, a trio or in a (men's) four. In acrobatic gymnastics, you and your partnership would do AMAZING stunts together.

Rhythmic gymnastics: This type of gymnastics is when groups of five or more, do many skills with balls, ribbons, hoops and other objects.

When you are a gymnast, you would need to be fit and healthy, just like any other athlete. Exercise everyday and eat healthily!

While you are doing gymnastics, always do your best and HAVE FUN!
