UNICEF Outright 2016

Today in assembly, Mrs Ross told the children all about UNICEF Outright Week.

This year, UNICEF is celebrating 26 years since the Convention of Children's Rights was adopted and Rights Respecting Schools from across the country are taking part in OutRight – a week of activities celebrating and promoting children’s rights.

OutRight is an annual Unicef UK campaign and this year’s focus is on how children’s rights are affected by humanitarian emergencies – especially the right to education and the right to be safe.

In assembly, the children watched a film about a refugee called Malak and then Mrs Ross explained what we are going to do to raise awareness of the plight of refugees.
