Year 5's Great Fire of Greenford

Hello. I am a member of 5ed. Recently my class participated in our own Great Fire of Greenford. Before we could begin we had to talk about what was going to happen. We built model houses over the half term break. One of the parents made St Paul's Cathedral and another made Pudding Lane bakery where its all began. First Mrs Tigg and Mr Odeeshio lit the bakery on fire. It all began very slowly but within seconds the fire had already destroyed the bakery. Then the flames began moving towards the edge of our miniture Greenford. The majestic flames, though full of destruction, elegantly powered over all our houses. Bits of debris floated around the air, hiding in the smoke that escaped the houses. It begun to smell like a barbacue, or something in the oven. Once it was all over, the stench that was left after the fire smelt like tuna and all that remained of the houses was piles of grey paper, ashes that floated like snowflakes and we all walked back to class, coughing and sputerring as we walked. Quite a few people were upset about their houses burning down but can you imagine losing your REAL home? Only a few people have that wide imagination and the Londerners of 1666 were far more devastated. I would do this again in a heartbeat, and the year fours and threes have a lot to look forward to when they do this project! But before we went out to do this, we did something called a risk assessment. It is were you look at all the risks and potentional damage that might happen. We came up with solutions though so no risks were taken!!

Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed finding out what year 5 did!
