Challenge

28.09.2018

The learning theme next week will be the colour ‘Yellow’.

For the challenge we ask that you go on a hunt for yellow objects around the home. This weekend, please support your child to count the number of yellow objects that they find and help them to create a simple tally. This will support your child in their mathematical development. We ask that you post on the challenge blog the number of objects they find and we will see who can find the most objects.

Next week the children will be baking banana, oat andraisin biscuits, using only these three ingredients. We will all be looking closely at sunflowers and strengthening our hand muscles by using tongs to pick up seeds in addition to counting and recording how many we can collect. Your child will also be exploring a range of media to create their own sunflower. The Foundation unit will look stunning! Ifyour child was in F1 last year and you have a photograph of the Sunflower that they brought home, please send it in for us to share on Monday.

Now your child has a new library book on a Thursday please ensure it is in their wallet the following Thursday, to ensure they will get a new library book.

F2 will start with their home study activities thisweek. Please ensure their Phonics and Maths home study activities are completed each week by your child with support if required, please do not complete it forthem. If they are reluctant to ‘have a go’ please reassure them that the more times they practice something, the easier it will get. Please annotate your child’s work where required and ensure that the home study book is in theirwallet on a Thursday for marking (with nice stamps and stickers!)
