In the story Kipper makes a cake for his toys, using all sorts of ingredients! Please talk with your child about making cakes and the kinds of ingredients that you would normally need.

For the challenge this week we would like you to play lots of listening games, including listening games you might play at a party. For example: Musical Statues, Simon Says or Traffic Lights. You can also hide objects and make a noise with them and ask your child what they think it could be. Learning to listen carefully is a very important skill for phonics as well as for getting along with others and learning in the classroom. Please practice lots this week and let us know your child’s favourite listening game by posting it on the blog.

We will begin the week by listening to the story ‘The Toys' Party’. Your child will have a range of creative resources to make cakes with, as well as baking real ones in Cooking. The children will be using mathematical vocabulary related to time to order a sequence of party related events. Such as, when to make the cake or decorate the room!

Save the Date: Friday 9th March 2018 at 9:20.Foundation and Key Stage 1 will be performing a Mother’s Day Assembly for our Mum’s and carers. We hope you can come along; it will last for approximately 40 minutes.

Your child’s updated spring term targets will be arriving in their wallets next week. Please send in the completed autumn target sheet if you have not yet done so. Thank you
