Dear Diary,

It is 1666 in London town and my name is Samuel Pepys. There is a huge fire burning in this city. It has been burning for four days and four nights. The baker in Pudding Lane forgot to sweep out his oven and a little spark started a fire. The fire spread very quickly because all the houses are made of wood and straw. Also, it is summer so it is very hot and dry and it is very, very windy.
