Tree Planting
This term we have been planting trees on the school grounds, so here are the instructions:

    You will need:
    A spade
    A young tree
A suitable location (needs sunlight and shade)
    Mulch
    Cardboard
    Bamboo cane
    Small piece of ribbon
    Spiral tree guard

1.     Make a hole in the ground, the size of three spades per one side. Make it no deeper than         five centimetres.
2.     Then, make another line through the middle of the square, again no deeper than five             centimetres.
3.     Remove the turf. It does not matter if they break.
4.     After that, make a noughts and crosses square, and remove the centre square.
5.     Then, dig another five centimetres down.
6.     Put the bamboo cane in carefully, making sure that you don't snap it.
7.     Carefully, put the tree in, making sure that the bit where the bark changes colour is at             ground level.
8.     Put the earth back carefully.
9.     Tie the ribbon carefully around the bamboo and tree.
10.     Put the tree guard over the the tree. Make sure that the spiral is open at the end             intended to go downwards.
11.     Put the cardboard carefully over the tree.
12.     Put the turf back over the cardboard, one at each corner.
13.     Cover the cardboard and turf with the mulch.
14.     Water the tree.
15.     If there are two dry days, water the trees.
16.     Remember to water the tree in dry weather conditions.

You have now successfully planted a tree!
