HELEN SHARMAN

Helen Sharman was a chemist.

She was the first British space explorer.

Sharman went on a space mission called Juno.

Before flying she spent 18 months of flight training in Star City, a cosmonaut training center in Russia.

Sharman was 27 years and 11 months old when she went to space.

She has not returned to space yet.

Helen Sharman was awarded the bronze, silver, and gold Medals of the Royal Aero Club.

There is a school in the Netherlands named after her.

In Stratford there is a street named after her, Helen Sharman Drive.
