Currency

Microsociety week 2

There are millions of currencies and each is another source of money for another country. In England we have the pound, in many countries in Europe there is are euros, in India there are rupees. so you see there are millions of currencies on earth.

All money needs to be unable to be forged and it usually has a picture of a famous person from that country on it. Notes and coins have their value written on it and most coins and notes can be split into smaller versions of them. For example pound can be broken up into pennies.

Objects can be used as money to. A solid gold bar or diamond would be worth more than any note. Also animals such as cows and pigs can be sold among farmers or people wishing to start a farm. In the olden days shells could be used as currency, but unfortunately by the time someone got to another village the currency would of changed.

We played monoply and discussed different strategies. I would say it is more profitable to invest in properties and houses rather than saving up for Mayfair or Park Lane. The browns alone can get you £450 if someone lands on you and if you invest in more properties there is a higher chance of someone landing on you and having to pay you money.

We decided on our flag by voting and narrowing down the options and than deciding on the final answer. This way it was a majority vote and fair. It was the same with the the name. Our final decision was St George's flag with other flags of where we are from surrounding it. The name was Peake Zania.

At the Magistrates Court We acted out a cort case and also learned that 95% of the court cases go to the Magistrates Court and only the remaining 5% went to the Judges Court. We also learned that there was a curtain to hide the criminal from the witness and that all the Magistrates were volunteers from the public.
