The Feast

A couple of weeks ago, it was my best friend's village feast and she invited my family and me to go. We all wore our nicest outfits and left home at seven o'clock.

We arrived at the village square and were met by my friend Chloe. She introduced her parents to mine and they hit it off immediately. This was great news because it meant that Chloe and I could spend some quality time together. Our parents were very generous with us and gave us some spending money so we could buy some things and food. Before we set off, I took my time to admire my surroundings. The streets were decorated with multicoloured lights, which hung down as if they were curtains. It looked amazing! I took a couple of photos with Chloe with the lights in the background.

After walking around for a while and having fun chatting with my friend, I was stopped in my tracks when I smelled something delicious. The aroma which was coming from a nearby stall attracted me like a magnet. What a feast! The food display featured pizza, hot dogs, nuggets, fries and chicken kebabs. I decided to order fries and chicken kebabs as these are my favourite. Chloe opted for a pizza. Before we started eating, we exchanged some food so we could taste it. Everything was scrumptious! We spotted an empty bench and rushed to sit down so we could eat our meal in peace.

In the distance, we could hear the village band playing away. We started walking towards where our parents were. All of a sudden, a rumbling noise gave us a big fright. I almost spilled my drink! Both Chloe and I started laughing when we realised it was just fireworks. It was beautiful, although there was a lot of smoke in the streets. We barely recognised our parents standing in front of the church, as people were throwing confetti everywhere.

After a while, my parents told me it was time to head back home. I slept during our ride and I dreamt of the wonderful time I had had at the village feast.
