This book is about the life of a lazy, day dreaming but street wise schoolboy called Tom Gates. He is always plotting to do things to annoy his sister Delia, making excuses for late homework, and winding up his enemy Marcus Meldrew!

After the school holidays he is put sitting next to Marcus and a very clever girl called Amy. He wants to impress Amy by working a bit harder but also by copying some of her answers. He forms a band called Dog Zombies with his best friend Derek. Amy also like music and he invites her to see a band called DUDE3! that is coming to their town. Although Derek's dog eats the concert tickets, eventually Tom gets a VIP ticket next to the stage through his teacher who went to school with the band manager.

Boys would like this book because it is about the funny adventures a naughty boy! I think they would like his band name and his song about his sister called Delia is a weirdo. But girls would like it also because Amy is very clever and likes music!

I would give the book 4/5 because it has lots of funny parts but also has some serious bits!
