King Henry VII wore the red rose which represents

Lancaster.The family of Lancaster had a war against

the family of York.The war was for a long time.The war was for 32 years, from 1455 to 1487. The red and white rose of York were separate before the war,then after the war, King Henry VII decided to put two roses together so they come together in peace.The Struggle for power was known as the War of the Roses because the Lancaster army emblem was a red rose and the York army emblem was a white rose.Henry Vll (representing the Lancaster family) married Elizabeth of York (representing the York family). This marriage united the two families. Henry created the Tudor rose, containing both the White Rose of York and the Red Rose of Lancaster. It symbolized the end of a struggle between York and Lancaster.

The house of York used a white rose.
