The Tree House of Terror

Chapter 2: The end of the beginning

Thursday 12th August 08:55

A loud 'BANG' was heard just around the tree house. Mark, Lucy, Michael and Daisy headed ther to investigate. Oddly enough, the tree still stood as high as a skyscraper taunting the four children. Daisy immediately wished them good luck. They investigated the area to find out what made the noise. Strange laughs and cackles came from behind the tree where Michael found a weird man holding a Jack-In-The-Box, cranking the handle. "Haha, haha!" he started to utter, "You'll never make it!". This frightened the four and was shivering (whilst relieved) at the gun on the box. Suddenly, the Jack-In-The-Box popped open as the man gave a creepy grimace and passed the box to Lucy. Lucy instantly dropped the box in terror before realizing that the man had vanished.

Daisy knew something was wrong so she called of the dare. At once, Mark replied with a no and so did the other two. They now wanted to find out what was in the tree house; there was no doubt, they needed to find what was inside. They agreed that they first had to find more clues about the tree house.

First, they searched the base of the tree. Writing could be made out on the side. Some of the letters took a while to read but that would not stop them. It read:

Press the button on the right, the ladder on the left will enter sight,

Climb up to see a chest, a key is off to north-west.

Find inside a rotting part, steal from it the red, dead heart,

Place on the ticking BOOM and then you'll find the second room.

These sounded like instructions to pass a room inside the tree house. A tree shaped piece of wood fell into Mark's hand. At the same time, a leaf shaped piece of wood fell into Michael's hand. A flower shaped piece of wood fell into Lucy's hand as a heart shaped chunk of bark fell into Daisy's hands. They each observed the fragments of timber and realized that Daisy seemed to be the odd one out as her bit wasn't a plant. After discussing the importance of the wood that were as hard as rock, they couldn't wait to enter the tree house, which was mostly because of the unlucky day, and headed home with excitement.

Daisy felt something inside her but couldn't figure out what. Suddenly, a bell rang. Mark, Lucy and Michael headed back home whilst Daisy stayed, she felt that she had a special connection with the tree. Unfortunately, she didn't know that she had more importance with her heart shaped pendant. The bell that rang signified that the tree house was ready... ready for the danger it was going to give to the four.

The next chapter will be out by the end of June!
