Book week! :)

Last week was book week, and we did several fun activities which included: dressing up,our whole school reading a lovely book and having an author visit!

LOOK BACK!

Our whole school read a book called look back, and it was very exciting and I really enjoyed how the story was building up to a big twist ab a character in the book called Ti-bolom and who he was. The description he had was very contrasting to who he actually was, giving my entire class a big shock! Ti-blolom was described to have big, black eyes, a large head,a very short figure and long long feet- the book said ‘long long long foot, making us wonder if he had only 1 foot.... Mysterious Ti bolom followed people in the deep dark night, and when you turned back to look ..he was gone! Although the beginning was very exciting the end was a bit of a disappointment due to Ti-bolom being nothing as described. He was actually a mirror with a smile-it was not something I drastically didn’t like but I felt like revealing what Ti-bolom actually was ruined the story.Despite not being the best ending, the author was quite clever not telly the reader if the story was a dream or not.. as Christopher was asleep but we didn’t know anything was for sure.

AUTHOUR VISIT!

Matt brown,a famous author came to out school to talk about how he got the ideas of the books he has written. He was VERY funny and added manny jokes into his presentation, making everyone laugh lots and lots! My favourite part was that he was making character names by putting someone’s pets name along with the road they live on. For example your pets name was Milly and you lived on chestnut grove, the characters name would be milly chestnut 🌰! Another thing I really enjoyed was that Matt brown said he put on a slide accidentally but he did it on purpose just to make us laugh! I really really loved this experience!

DRESS UP!

on Friday, we had the chance to dress up as a favourite book character or in a tropical summery outfit. I wore a jumpsuit which was a navy colour and was covered in many leaves and plants! It was nice because it is really fun to wear our own clothes instead of school uniform for a day-something we rarely do. Something that brought dread to me was that we were wearing bright and colourful on a rainy gloomy day!
