When he was about eight or nine years old, his mother, him and other siblings would live in one bedroom and often had no electricity.

Professional Career

Floyd Mayweather's first ever professional fight was against Roberto Apodaca. (a fellow newcomer to professional boxing) Floyd defeated Roberto in the second round by KO. For the first part of Floyd Mayweather's pro career, his trainer was his uncle Roger Mayweather until his father took over in 1996. In one of Mayweather's fights, ESPN commentator Tony Duran said "There have been very few boxers more talented than this kid. He will probably win two or three world championships, I think he could go on to be the best ever." And Tony Duran was more than right! Floyd 'Money' Mayweather was gone on to win 8 world titles, 3 minor titles, RING magezines fighter of the year twice, Boxing Writers association of America fighter of the year twice and an Olympic bronze medal.
