The children will be learning about how Chinese New Year is celebrated, as well as the story of how the Emperor helped the animals to decide what to name each new year. For the challenge this week we ask that you talk with your child about where China is in the world as well as Chinese traditions. For example, how a tea ceremony is performed or how chopsticks are used to eat food. Please let us know which Chinese tradition your child learned about, either by sending in a photo or a picture that your child has drawn, you can also respond on the blog.

The week will be full of exciting activities for the children. The children will explore patterns found on dragons and we will make lanterns and Chinese New Year cards. The children can also develop their fine motor skills by taking part in a chop stick challenge!

Thank you for your support with helping your child to make a puppet last week, they are now complete and hanging up in the classroom and they look fantastic!

*Note for F2 Parents: Next week we will be assessing the children on their Humpty Word Wall and number targets.
